When magma reaches the surface, it is known as lava. Magma is formed through the partial melting of rocks in the Earth's mantle or crust and can vary in composition, which determines the type of volcanic eruption that can occur. The chromatic variety causes a mixture of feelings between fear and admiration to be generated at the time of the eruption.
