XAVI CASTEL

Xavi Castel is a Catalan contemporary artist born in 1965 in Barcelona, Spain. Since 2014, he has been living and working in Vicenza, Italy, where he continues to develop his artistic vision and unique creative voice.

Driven by a deep passion for art and a lifelong search for beauty, Xavi Castel has explored a wide range of artistic styles and techniques, eventually merging them into a distinctive visual language defined by originality and personal expression.

In his early artistic journey, Castel specialized in encaustic painting — an ancient art technique that uses beeswax as a medium and fire instead of a traditional brush. His encaustic works are known for their textural depth and visual complexity, created through a delicate balance of light and shadow, opacity and transparency, resulting in truly one-of-a-kind pieces.

Currently, he is immersed in the vibrant world of Neo Pop Art, producing bold and impactful artworks that combine color, symbolism, and collage to convey strong visual messages and cultural commentary. His recent works stand out for their striking aesthetic, emotional energy, and contemporary relevance.
